Gala Thai

Location: Noho Arts District

The fam and I had gone to Trader's Joes to do some shopping since the fridge is looking like it's on a diet.  The check out lines were down the aisles of the store, so we decided we didn't need groceries that bad, that we could eat out since we hadn't done that in a while.  We live right by the NOHO Art's District, but haven't eaten at most of the places.  We decided to try out Gala Thai since we both love thai food.
It appears to be a family owned place with TVs playing music videos on the wall.  We started out by ordering Satay.  It came with this cucumber salad that ended up being really good.  The whole dish was flavorful and satisfying.
For the main course, I order the Street noodles (rice noodles, carrots, wonton chips, cabbage, chicken, bell pepper in a yellow curry sauce) and Andy ordered a Cashew stir fry with scallops and a side of rice.  I must say the street noodles were really great.  I'm big on flavor, so I like things that leave my mouth wanting more, and this was it.  Even little Daenerys liked it and managed to it all over her clothes.  This place is a must eat where the food is concerned.  The waitress wasn't super welcoming, but the food makes up for it and she was attentive, just looked tired.
