Our newest little kitchen!

It's the end of the week and it's been a short action packed one.  At least the last part of has been.  It started with our Ikea package finally coming on Monday.  Whoo-hoo to that.  The contractors came on Wednesday to supposedly put it together.  For some reason, these guys can't figure out Ikea diagrams to save their life.  So it bled into Thursday.  We are trying to get a renter into the small place by next month so Andy was stalking the contractors so that everything could get done by this weekend.  Lo and behold, they finish, but the electrician says the range hood is faulty.  A call to Wayfair and a refund on the wrong credit card later, we are on the search for another hood that is decently priced.  Andy puts in a call to Cadillac Matt.  There are no words to describe Cadillac Matt. As he likes to tell people, he grew up in boys home and look where he is now.  He happened to have a used range that was in our budget so we had him drop one off.  Not as great as the one I got off Wayfair, but beggars can't be choosers.  The one thing I can say about Matt is that although he doesn't seem perceptive, the guy understands New Orleans problems, just doesn't know what to do about them.  That's a post for another day.

The contractors finished the job this morning and now the kitchen is ready for a new owner!

Here is a photo of the old kitchen.  It was mostly just this and a range across from it. It left alot to be desired.

Here's the renovated kitchen:

I kept both themes monochrome for a clean urban look.  We'll be designing our next house soon.   I think it's going to have a more rustic feel.   Stay tuned!
