Lavender frames

There is so much going on right now, but nothing at all.  Everyone is Nola seems to be waiting around for the rain to stop.  Since we had the flooding a few weeks ago, I am paranoid about going too far away from home when it's raining out.  I don't want to get stranded.  Then there is what is going on in Houston where so many people are displaced and just waiting for the rain to stop and the water to recede so that they can either resume with daily life or to begin to pick up the pieces.

Now that the house we are staying in now is completed.  We are waiting for the property management company to find us a renter.  That will be one step to us having some passive income!Which is one of our goals, to be making enough in passive income so that we can live off of it.   All of our focus will be on the other house, which we call Lavender. This house will be our homestead.  We got it for a reduced price, though it had much more termite damage than we have originally thought so it's going to cost more than we planned to fix up.  Since we are from LA, even with the extra money, it will be half the price of any house we could have bought in Los Angeles.   They have gutted the house and have re-framed it.  We are planning on keeping some of the original elements, like some of the wood walls, and ornamentation. It's a duplex so it's pretty big.  We are changing the layout to give us more room and there is an upstairs loft/office space.   Below are some photos of the framing!  It's not much to look at, but as we progress, you'll be able to see the changes.
