Bay Tavern- Barbados Edition
Location: Martins Bay in St. John Parish
Bay Tavern is pretty much the only little restaurant/bar in this little town. It has outside seating right by the beach. The menu does change with the day. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable.
On Thursday nights they have karoke, a DJ, and the locals all come out.
The first time we went to this little joint, it was a Tuesday. I ordered fried Red Snapper and Macaroni Pie (which is just baked mac and cheese with spices). I must say, the Red Snapper was decent, had good seasoning, and they gave you the whole fish. The mac was a little spicy, creamy, and just darn delicious.
Andy ordered the swordfish. Andy said it was really good. It comes with a little salad (kind of sad little salad).
If you want local food, this is the place to go. IF you go to a tourist place, just know you will pay tourist prices and the portions are smaller. At least that's what I've learned so far.
We are a bit in the countryside, but it's so darn pretty out here.
